Since at least Windows 95 the OS has
included a utility called System Information. Often I find that it's
easier if you simply use this utility to export a report to a text file
and send to me than try to tell you how to find what I need to know.
- System Information can be found on your Start Menu and is
usually in your (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools group.
If you can not find it easily type the Run dialog hotkey combo
Windows+R. The Windows Key is usually between the CTRL and ALT keys
in the lower left corner of your Windows keyboard.

Now type "msinfo32" in the run line and click OK.

- It varies slightly on the OS but usually one simply click File >
Export...

However on Windows 2000 Pro the export will be in the Action menu.

- Select a location you will remember, EG Desktop, and a file
name, EG "My system info", then click Save.

- In your email application attach this file and send to me. Also
feel free to open the file and see what's in there. Some fear that
it might reveal secrets but as you see it's noting but a bunch of
boring techie stuff and very little personal information.
